A solid cover is a continuous aluminum roof panel on the same posts and beams as a lattice. It blocks the sun completely, sheds a downpour, and gives you a ceiling for a fan, lights or a heater for the short winter.
The roof pans are pitched to drain and finished in the same wood-grain colors as the structure, so from the yard it reads as one piece with the house rather than an add-on. On a valley tract home with a block wall and no trees, it is the difference between a patio that gets used and one that does not.

Seven colors, four edges.
Two choices shape how the cover looks from the yard: the baked-on color, and the profile cut into the end of every rafter. The finish sheds dirt, dust and stains and stands up to sun, salt and pollution, so the cover stays the color you chose.

Alumawood is embossed aluminum. It reads as timber from the yard and asks nothing of you afterwards.
Insect-proof
Termites and carpenter bees get nothing to eat. There is no wood in it.
No painting
The color is baked on. It does not peel, so there is nothing to scrape or repaint.
Weather-resistant
Sun, wind and the occasional hard rain leave it as it was. Aluminum does not rot or rust.
Crack-resistant
It does not dry out and split the way wood does after a couple of summers at 110 degrees.
Stays straight
Rafters do not twist, cup or sag as the seasons turn. The lines you saw on day one stay put.

Questions about solid patio covers.
No. The heat on a Las Vegas patio comes from the sun on the slab and the furniture, and a solid roof stops that. The roof panel itself does warm up in the afternoon; if you want the air under it cooler still, an insulated roof or a ceiling fan is the answer.
Yes. Fans, lights and radiant heaters mount into the roof panel. Say so at the estimate and the electrical is run during the build.
Yes. Power screens from several makers mount to the cover's beams and drop to block glare, wind and bugs, which is handy around a pool or an outdoor TV. They can go in with the cover or later.
Yes. LED lights, recessed or string style, wire into the rafters, and a ceiling fan mounts to a solid or insulated roof or to a fan beam on a lattice. Say so at the estimate and the wiring is run during the build, by a licensed electrician, to code.
Yes, with the clearances the heater's maker specifies. Alumawood is Class A fire rated. A gas or electric heater stretches the season into fall and early spring.
The cover itself is fixed, but the screens, shades, lights, fans and heaters you add to it can be tied to sun, wind and rain sensors or a smart-home hub. A screen can drop on its own when the wind gets up, and the lights can come on from your phone.
An attached patio cover in Clark County, or inside the cities of Las Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas, normally needs a building permit, and we pull it as part of the job. Small freestanding structures sometimes fall under the size limit; we tell you which applies to your address at the estimate.
